Questions from Saddleback: Your Thoughts?
We received some great questions from the Q&A at Saddleback. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time for all. If you tuned in via Webcast, chat, Twitter or Live what are your thoughts?
(Make sure to mention which question you’re answering in your comments.)
- Speaking of the next generation, many young people are disillusioned with the commercialism of the American church. How can the church help this generation move towards a healthy view of God and his people?
- Young people have grown up making decisions with their parents, coaches, etc. They are comfortable making decisions with lots of input. This important part of their life (spirituality) they will ask for input because it’s comfortable and the Word tells us to seek wise counsel. Who will mentor/counsel these young people who are literally begging for mentors within the church?
- How does the church address the baggage (materialism, sexuality, etc.) to free the next generation to be effective?
- What do you see happening in the global south, that we as a “Western” church must learn in order to better advance the Kingdom?
- Doesn’t this shift (growth towards global south) now make Europe and North America the mission field?
- Is it helpful to compare levels of suffering between Christians in different countries? How do we share in suffering with them in our context?
